Hardware: Good knowledge of x86 computer architecture, plus some knowledge of IBM POWER / PowerPC computer architecture.

Operating Systems: Extensive knowledge of Linux, good knowledge of Mac OS X, AIX, Windows NT/XP/200x, plus some experience with FreeBSD and OpenBSD.

Networking: Extensive knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite (IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, HTTP, DNS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, and others) and the ISO/OSI model. Good knowledge of Ethernet specification. Some experience with WLAN technologies.

Programming Languages: Extensive knowledge of scripting languages (bash, awk, sed), and experienced in Python, Perl, C and x86 Assembly.

Virtualization: Good knowledge of System p (IBM), VMware, Xen and KVM/QEMU.

Applications and Services: Advanced knowledge of Web Servers (Apache, IIS, nginx, lighttpd), Samba, OpenLDAP, NFS (v3,v4), DNS/DHCP (ISC), Printing (CUPS, iPrint), SSH (OpenSSH), SMTP (Postfix), Proxy (ISA, Squid), Monitoring (Nagios, Cacti, Mon, Tivoli).
